UEFA Champions League 2012 Final: Bayern Munich Plays For The Future of Soccer

Today brings us the final game of the world's biggest annual sporting event: the championship game of the Champions League. However, unlike previous years, today's game lack the normal "sexiness" we've come to expect from this matchup. No Barcelona or Real Madrid. No Manchester United. No teams from Milan. Instead, this year we get Chelsea versus Bayern Munich.

Doug Flutie Eat Your Heart Out

So while former NFL quarterback Doug Flutie may hold the record for foul balls caught at Fenway Park (completely unofficial stat I sorta made up although he has seriously caught at least 7), he may not have one like the one I caught 2 weeks ago. It's a beauty. The Sox are celebrating the 100th anniversary of Fenway this year and in typical Red Sox fashion, they are splashing their fancy "100 Years" logo on anything and everything they can. It's actually a pretty cool logo, but as the Sox marketing department likes to do, they have made it so ubiquitous you start to get sick of it.

History is Made

Forty-four years. Forty-four long, interminable years of suffering. This was the story of Man City. Not everyone can understand the pain, as some fans invest their rooting interests in proven successes, Lakers, Celtics and Bulls in basketball, Yankees in baseball, everyone knows the type, the prototypical bandwagon fan, and soccer is no different, with England’s United being the traditional front runner’s team.

Oklahoma City Thunder This Year's Most Championship-Ready Team

The NBA is down to its final 8, and at this point in the season there aren't any pretenders left. Sure, not every team left is a favorite, but there aren't any teams left that "got lucky" or just "snuck in." If you're still playing, you deserve to be here because you earned it. Of course, of the eight teams left, there is only one that will finish the season the way it wants to, which is with a win. Of the eight teams left, the favorite has to be the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Wired To Win

Let’s just start with this stat … Josh Hamilton has more HR’s this week than Albert Pujols, Troy Tulowitzki and Justin Upton combined have this season!!! I guess never doubt the allure of a player in his walk year.

But since Hamilton is not going anywhere from your fantasy teams this year, let’s take a look at who may be ADDED to the team this week. In no particular order …
